What a fantastic start to the season!! I was so excited leading up to the game, it was pretty much the highlight of my week. Nothing was going to stop me from watching that game. As much as I would have loved to have traveled up to Brisbane to watch the game live, I just wasn't able to. So I sat at home watching the Channel 9 coverage.
I even found myself watching the match preview, and they did an incredible tribute to Jamie Lyon. I was definitely proud to call myself a fan that night. It was kind of strange seeing the new players out there on the field in place of those who have moved on or, in the case of Glenn Stewart and Jason King, injured.
After the first 10 or so minutes, I felt we lost our spark, whether or not we had been dominating the minutes, I'm not entirely sure. Brisbane got their penalty and found their way over the line more times than I care to remember.
We got up in the end. After the start of the second half our heads were in the game and we really started to dominate and play well. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, hopefully we build on this and just keep getting better each week. Here's to a better start to the season than last year (please no injuries boys...)
See you Sunday and Happy Footballing!
